After working in the travel industry for many years, family matriarch Gemma Allan co-founded Maxima Tours in 1989. In 2009, Maxima became exclusively a family business under the direction of Gemma and her two sons Jason and Damon Allan focusing on the retiree market, offering travel options that suit their needs and desires. Maxima’s US operations is headed up by former hockey star Mark Nagel out of Clarence (Buffalo). Other vital staff members are Sandi Stirling and Wendy & Steve Griffin (Tour Directors), Lisa Esquivel (Office Staff) and Lisa Tkach as head of Finance. For most of their 20-plus years, Maxima has focused on the North American motor coach travel market. Like many tour operators, their market is mainly composed of retirees who are looking for fulfilling experiences. Recently, Maxima has been expanding their products to attract a broader group of travelers with the inclusion of cruise packages as well as small group international travel packages.
In its entirety, Maxima offers: packaged group motor coach day trips, packaged group motor coach and or air/cruise extended trips and broker for motor coach charters. Taking the next step into experimental group travel, Maxima is now offering small group experiences to places such as Italy, Portugal, Iceland, Spain and our exclusive product – Malta.
Having won many service awards including Platinum in The Hamilton Spectator’s Reader’s Choice Awards for Favourite Travel Agent, Retiree Tours and Travel Agency, Maxima is best known for their service level on trips.
